Halfway through dinner, my companion paused, laying down her fork for emphasis. "I haven’t been this impressed with a restaurant in a long time," she said seriously. Funny — I’d been thinking the exact same thing.

I’d heard twitters about Shawns on Main over the past year, but to be perfectly honest, we came because I’d been eavesdropping on a conversation between two enviable power couples comparing local restaurants when one announced with finality, "My favorite restaurant is Shawns on Main." I went home and made a reservation for a Saturday.
